PoundforPound Connor McGregor or Jose Aldo?

This is it folks, here we go again. On July 11, 2015 Connor McGregor will take on the defending UFC World Feathereight champion Jose Also at UFC 189 at the MGM GRAND ARENA IN Las Vegas, NV. There is a lot of buzz among MMA fans that the winner of this fight is the PoundforPound King. McGregor is a loud outspoken Irishman with an impressive 17-2 record who has not lost a fight in over 5 years. Aldo sports a very impressive 25-1 record with his lone loss coming in 2005 to Luciano Azevedo. There is a lot of bad blood between these two warriors and it has led to an unbelievable thirst for this fight. McGregor has disrespected Aldo every step of the way, verbally attacking Aldo every chance he has gotten. He has gone as far to even steal the champs belt at a press conference in Ireland. This fight has the makings of a war, however many question the level of opposition McGregor has faced. It will be interesting when the cage shuts, bell ring and each man realizes there is no more talking and it is time to get it on! Remember fight fans, there is only 1, #1. Who will be the Pound4Pound king of the Cage?

Lennox Allen impresses, now 18-0 (11 Ko's)

Pound4Pound Wear sponsored fighter Lennox  “2 Sharpe” Allen improved to 18-0 (11 Ko’s) knocking out Kojo Issah 14-2-1 (7 Ko’s) in impressive fashion last night at B.B. King in Times Square, NYC.  Kojo had an impressive record entering the fight with only one loss in 16 bouts. In the first round both fighters came out cautious feeling each other out. Kojo was cagey and crafty sometimes dangerous leading with his head, but Allen got the better of the exchanges. In the second round Allen started pounding Kojo to the body and landing.  Allen ripped two hard body shots that landed clean to Kojo’s ribs dropping him instantly. Kojo was unable to meet the 10 count ending the bout 51 seconds into round 2.

Allen remains undefeated and is looking to have a breakout year after an injury and opponent issues had him sidelined in 2014.  This win should put Allen in the top 10 ranking at super middleweight in the various “alphabet” organizations.  ” We look to get Allen right back in the ring in the next  month or two so he can get a few more rounds under his belt. After that we will be looking for a bigger fight against any one of the champions at 168 or top contenders”, stated Steven Heid manager to Allen. “This is our year, I felt great and was happy to be back in the square circle. I knew I hurt him as soon as I connected. I heard him wince and he went down immediately. This is the year I become world champion” stated Allen.

Pound4Pound sponsors Caleb "The Bull" Trumbull

Pound4Pound clothing and accessories has become an official sponsor of MMA prospect Caleb “The Bull” Trumbull. Caleb is 22 years old, 170 pounds and fights out of The Training Compound in Battle Creek, Michigan. Caleb is a well rounded fighter and is comfortable in the cage wherever the fight may go. He is confident in his fight striking, grappling and clinch work. Caleb is a straight forward guy and tells it how it is.  In an interview he once said his most memorable moment in MMA was a loss in the amateurs which was for the TWC Welterweight Title. The Bull had trained three months for one opponent, however he backed out for unknown reasons. Caleb decided to accept another fight against a more experienced fighter who outweighed him by 15 pounds.  Though Caleb came up short and dropped a decision, he walked away with a morale victory and unleashed his inner warrior.  “After that fight I knew I could hang with anyone, it is a feeling I can’t describe. At that moment, I knew it was time to turn pro.” said Caleb. The MMA world is buzzing about Caleb who had an impressive amateur record and expects big things from him in the future.

“Pound4Pound is excited to have Caleb on board and represent our brand,” said Founder and CEO, Steven Heid “This kid wouldn’t take no for an answer, he reached out to me on social media the week we launched our website and told me he loved our products and had to be associated with the brand.  I was still working on the sportswear and fitness line among a million other things.  The more I spoke to Caleb the more I started to like him and what he represented.  Caleb is a stand up kid who is following and literally fighting for his dream. What I find as impressive as his fighting skills is how he conducts himself outside the cage.  Caleb is associated with Redemption Martial Arts which is looking to put the “Lights Out on Bullying.” RMA foundation is a non-profit organization committed to anti-bullying and awareness. RMA rely on financial generosity to help accomplish there mission.  You can donate at www.redemptionmartialarts.com.  Caleb is a psychology major and speaks about the damage bullying can do on an individual physically, psychologically and emotionally. If you don’t love a kid with this type of attitude, than your not a fan of life”

Caleb is looking to get back into the cage in early January  and stamp his mark on the MMA world. The Bulls  next fight will be announced shortly, so be sure check back frequently for updates at www.pound4poundwear.com.
